Tyrone Tax Rates

Now that the tax season has come and gone, one question keeps coming up and I can't seem to find an acceptable answer for it: Why is the tax rate for Tyrone Borough so high? 1.9% of my income is taken for the privilege of living in Tyrone, while the surrounding areas are much lower (at around 1.1%)....

Re: New Grocery Store For Tyrone

Sure hope we get a REAL grocery store in Tyrone soon...our borough officials should be scrambling to make something happen. Who wants to live in a town that has no decent grocery store, even if it does have pretty sidewalks? It's an embarrassment...this town is barely a shell of what it was even 10 ...

Re: Bi-Lo Closing

Now that Bi-Lo has closed, I find it more and more inconvenient to travel up the highway for groceries. Sure, there is a Sav-A-Lot in town, but I've hardly ever gone there, and the times I do, I'm sort of put off by the unfamiliar brand names and questionable quality associated with those. Sure, you...

Re: Tyrone Police Department and Greg Ray Termination

I know Courtney was politically aware and interested way before the whole situation with the current council came about. I think it's great that a young person in town would take such an interest and put her name out there, run for council, and go through all the crap (sure to come her way) in order...

We, as citizens of Tyrone, are extremely fortunate to have someone in your position that...

Yeah...and "pea" was pretty generous.
I'm thinking "pea" now can be replaced with "hoagie".

Windmills on Ice Mountain - Gamesa Wind Turbines

What do y'all think about the proposed windmill farm on Ice Mountain? I'm sorta torn on that one. On one hand, I'm in agreement with the necessity of cleaner sources of energy. On the other, it sickens me to think the natural beauty of Ice Mountain will be ruined by the sight of those things, not to...

From my perspective, disneyqn obviously has a personal interest in this long-exhausted debate...and there's nothing wrong with sticking up for your family...but I think all her comments are starting to get a little redundant, and a little...well, testy. Now, she takes an honest question about the fu...

Hey Beach Biker!!! You know we'll be open 24/7 if we know you're heading our way! I haven't seen any of the pix you were snapping appear anywhere on this site or the net in general. Saving some for a "special occasion"??? There's gotta be some ammo there! It was good seeing you guys! You G...
