New grocery store in Tyrone - with a twist
There are rumblings from more than once source of another new grocery store coming to Tyrone. What's different about this one is, it'll sell only vegan-friendly foods. That's right, no food with a face. They produce department will be large, and there's rumored to be one aisle dedicated soley to Tof...

Re: Penn State
Yes, because growing up in Tyrone, naturally it was normal to be a Crimson Tide fan. Probably likes the Cowboys, too.

Re: Tear It Down
The Clownship...er, the Township has been sitting on their hands for years. Officially, that junkyard is a "building materials recycling yard", but notice it contains metal scrap, steel tanks, old school desks, etc. As I've said, you can put kittens in the oven, but that doesn't make them ...

Re: Tyrone nature writer to speak on Wednesday
I attended and enjoyed it. It was interesting to learn a little more about life in Plummer's Hollow.

Re: Name That Tune
I'm in for Oshkosh.
Under the following conditions, though -
We follow the map. No "road improvisation".
We must gas up at Agway using a gas key.
If possible we drive a borrowed Cutlass Cierra.
We blow the air horn until the armature gets red hot.

Re: Do Not Pass?
Come to think of it, I do see a lot of people riding those little Rascals with the flags on them in that neighborhood. One guy (who shall remain nameless) gets around on his so much, I've seen him as far south as Jack's Restaurant! (If you know where that is, you've been a Tyrone-area resident for a...

Do Not Pass?
I was taking a walk today and noticed a new road sign on the southwest corner of the Clay Ave/W. 16th Street intersection. I walked past it before my brain registered what it said, and I went back for another look. Do Not Pass. No, really. It says "Do Not Pass". Now, it's about 132 yards f...

Re: Tear It Down
I went to many Snyder Township meetings, and brought up Mr. Ray's junkyard many times. I was at one meeting where Mr. Ray challenged somebody to step outside. Very mature. Township supervisors and code enforcement can't get Mr. Ray to clean up his messes. I doubt a personal visit from me would convi...

Re: Tear It Down
The YMCA is an eyesore, and a dangerous one at that. It was basically handed over to the new owner, and his grand plans have never materialized. The guy is a master of the stall tactic. I think it's time for some enforcement. That building needs to be fixed immediately (like, this week) or needs to ...

Re: Windmills on Ice Mountain - Gamesa Wind Turbines
As a Snyder Township resident, I had no opportunity to participate in the "informal survey", which is disappointing, considering that the proposed windmill farm would be located in Snyder Township. This will effect township residents as much as the people of the borough, and it would have ...

Maybe if I owned the most run-down properties in town, plus a couple of ugly junkyards, I'd get a pat on the back.80cobra wrote:blain , get a life. give the man some credit. what have you done for tyrone? thats right you are the town gripester
