Re: Clem's BBQ
I agree the BBQ is good, but twice we've been there where the only sides they had were potato salad. Other were sold out, and the friers were broke so they couldn't make the fries. We still stop in occasionally, because we do like the food and don't always want to drive to Altoona.

Welcoming Home the Troops
Does anyone have any information on the parade to welcome home the troops taking place in Tyrone early Nov., or know who to contact? Thanks!

Re: "Unstoppable" filming and casting call
I haven't heard of anyone getting a call either. The film crew is in staying in State College, I think they arrived last week. From what I heard, the majority of the filming will be in Port Matilda and Milesburg, filming to start in Tyrone at the end of the month.

Like: Very good school district here, teachers really seem to care about the students and my kids are receiving an excellent education.
Dislike: Having to drive to Altoona/State College for so many things, including shopping, movies and other activities.

Re: Windmills on Ice Mountain - Gamesa Wind Turbines
Is wind energy a viable alternative? 07/04/2009 As the U.S. government continues to push for alternative energy sources, some residents are questioning whether some of the proposed projects in the Tri-County Area are "too good to be true." Luthersburg residents Sharon and Gary Gilmore are...

Re: Joke Of The Moment...
A Little Christian Humor Jesus and Satan were having an on-going argument about who was better on the computer. They had been going at it for days, and frankly God was tired of hearing all the bickering. Finally fed up, God said, "THAT'S IT! I have had enough. I am going to set up a test that w...

"With 30 years of this stuff (which I doubt if it last that long) who knows how many times this farm will be sold... right now we know for sure once this is built, this company will sell it and be out of here." According to researchers in the ARL lab at Penn State, turbines only last on av...

Re: Windmills on Ice Mountain - Gamesa Wind Turbines
My2Cents, with smart meters, no one is controlling your energy use. They are simply providing you information so you can decide if you would rather do that load of laundry now, and pay the higher rate, or wait until morning to save some money. It's a concept similar to cell phones. Wait until after ...

"They do walk a lot over here, they don't have AC in any house that I have ever been in. Electricity is outrageous, which is why they conserve so much. And they are closed on Sundays. I love this because you are pretty much guaranteed to at least have one day a week with family. Yes, conserving...

Re: Windmills on Ice Mountain - Gamesa Wind Turbines
I've been assigned to a new project at Penn State, which involves interviewing researchers of renewable energy. Most of them agree, not one thing will solve all our energy problems. It will take a combination of solar, wind, nuclear, etc. to meet our future energy demands. Most of the researchers I'...
