OK, I don't even have to guess what the top story in 2009 is in Tyrone. It would be the Windmills.
What would you suggest are the rest.
I am curious to see.

Re: Tyrone lost 2 great contributors
Ardean, You and your family are in my prayers. If there was one thing I will always remember about your Mom was how she always was there during our Youth Football games. Whether the kids were on your Dad's team or played against them, Edie gave everyone a hug or a pat on the head as they left the fi...

Tyrone lost 2 great contributors
It is sad that in this week, Homecoming week, that two people who contributed greatly to the Tyrone community passed away. Lemoine Zimmerman and Steve Michaels. You could never go to Gray Field without seeing either of them. Lemon in the press box running the scoreboard and Steve taking photos. God ...

Re: Do Not Pass?
The best Do Not Pass sign in the history of Tyrone was on the S turn in East Tyrone.

Imagine the jobs that could be created with a good set of tax breaks for PSU to build a research park here.

Re: Tear It Down
The one thing that I don't understand is how all this crap happens. The Borough under the rule of her former excellency got grant money to build pretty sidewalks and a gift from an elderly gentleman to build a park for nobody to enjoy when they could have been applying for grants to help the communi...

Re: disgruntled tax payer
In this primary season in PA, McCain isn't campaigning in PA. He has the nomination, so why bother. There is a chance for McCain to campaign in PA and Tyrone students to see him. It is probably pretty easy to bring Civics to the Classroom. Both Reps Stern and Fleck are very community oriented as is ...

Re: vacant buildings in tyrone
I have suggested this before.
How about Bulldozing 1/2 of Pennsylvania Avenue. Go to PSU and offer it as a Research facility and make it a KOZ for 10 years.
Cheaper to live in the Tyrone area and also brings tax dollars and other money into the community.

Tyrone lost a good man
The Tyrone community lost one of the good ones when Mike Blaska passed away. I was fortunate enough to serve on the YMCA Board with Mike and without his hard work, the YMCA would have folded many years earlier. He was a man who gave tirelessly to the YMCA and to the Tyrone community. Sue, Chris and ...

Re: What has the board come to?
I know the windmills and sewage treatment plant are big issues in Tyrone. When I was home, I even signed the Windmill petition. It was a joke that the two biggest problems facing Tyrone are poop and windmills. Figured I would add a little lightening up to the mood of the board. Tyrone has many big i...
