Re: Tyrone Tax Rates

I see no one answered your question. I didn't think they would. I've often wondered this myself. 1.9% is extremely high for this area, considering the lack of services for your money. I have paid higher taxes living in other areas, but it always included free trash pickup, free lawn debris pickup, a...

Re: HOAGIE WARS

The problem with that "everything is tied to gas" comment is that everything DID go UP with gas, but NOTHING came back DOWN with gas! I smells me a greed that is smellier than either Hoagie makers kitchen! Back to the Hoagie wars....it all comes down to SERVICE. Treat your customers well, ...

Re: 14th street apartments fire

I'm no senior detetective or anything, but I would be looking at the buildings owner.....seams kind of suspicious that it burned down not too long after it was designated as "unfit to live in". Or perhaps an old tenant that was disgruntled?? Good Job to the fire crew! Keep up the good work...

Re: Tyrone Community Labor Day Picnic

Wow. That is truly a shame. The things some people will do to others. There is a growing population of people that don't respect others and don't respect the law. The worse our economy gets, the more of these people we will see. Crime is increasing in our area and we as citizens NEED to stand up and...

Re: Road Work in borough

KUDOS to a job almost well done....I am glad to see this bad stretch of road fixed. GREAT JOB GUYS and GALS! It was a pain to deal with, but WELL WORTH IT in the end! Does anyone know if there is a plan to paint lines along the side where all the kids walk? I've already see quite a few speed freaks ...

Re: Tear It Down

Wow....good information from the flaming skull! Good job! Looks like we're spending too much time focusing on steep ramps and not enough time focusing on the larger buildings?? Or perhaps someone (G.R.) is getting "special favors/treatment"?? If he is that far past the due date then why is...

Re: Kaup Family Needs Help

I believe the borough is responsible for providing an alternative safe walking space if they should close down a portion of the sidewalk. Even if Tyrone doesn't have a law on the books, I'm sure the state of PA does which would superscede any local law anyway. I'm sure the If someone would get hit b...

Re: Kaup Family Needs Help

Are there any "CODES" on the books for wavy or irregular road conditions or pot holes? I wonder if myself or someone visiting me would possibly have an motorcycle or bicycle accident due to a wavy road condition (15th street by the Legion and down past Sheetz), could I sue the Borough of T...

Re: Kaup Family Needs Help

I am all for the code enforcer trying to get rid of some of these old run down houses and buildings; however, I believe he has gone way too far on this ramp issue. Why could he not let this one go? Does he realize how much it would cost to have an engineer come do a drawing and sign off on this?? Th...

I was a member of that unit for 8 years. I am not a very religious person, however, I do pray for a safe journey for all of you. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you! This will not be easy for the families of those who serve. I also do not want to start a political debate; however, I also hop...
