Yep! I grew up on Oak Street! Used to love that one maple tree just down from your house that always got such a beautiful golden-orange color about this time of year. And "Shorty", I believe we were neighbors back when. Lived 2 houses up from you. Same side of the street. Graduated together. I left Tyrone January 1976 and come back to visit maybe once a year to see my mom and brothers.

Eureka! I found my copy of my mom's recipe. It has a softer dough and is especially good. RAISIN FILLED COOKIES: 4 eggs 2 c. sugar 2 c. This isn't the recipe my mom used to make, but it's from an old cookbook. Maybe this will help.
