I stopped by the school last week when I was in Tyrone and left my phone number for the new director to contact me regarding this discussion we have been having. I also spoke with the President of the Band Boosters and told her that there are a lot of us out there that would be willing to help suppo...

Well Jim is the duly elected representative of the people of Tyrone. The people who live in Tyrone elected him Mayor with the full knowledge of his involvement with the Joshua House. Just because he was chosen to serve two distinct groups in his community does not mean that he has to place a great d...

Unless you are in education you would find it hard to believe the influence that standardized testing has had on the master schedules of most high schools in the nation. The No Child Left Behind initiatives have not only left huge groups behind but have also slowly started to erode the number of stu...

Banksy I agree about the amount of need per kid. I was thinking that if a kid needs $250.00 a year for expenses then that is 25 former band members making a 10 dollar donation. Certainly there would be some former members that could and would do more but the idea is to build a large base of support ...

One of the things I recall about being in band is that it involved perpetual fund raising. The concept of the $10.00 donations would be to offset the fees the kids have to pay to be a part of the band. For any family that struggles financially, band becomes a liability instead of an asset. As a resu...

Gerry Roberts was the director of the band in the 70's too so there are a lot of people out there whose life was touched by his contribution to TAHS. How about we set up the fund in his name and it then be used by the band for things they need?

How about every former band member donating $10.00 to the band. There has to be thousands of us out here by now. That should help the band. Where do we mail the checks?

Any chance you can make the pictures so we can save them on to our computers? Actually Jay, if you click on the thumbnails above, you will get the larger version of the picture. When it finishes loading, you can "Right-Click" on the image and save it to your computer. You can do that with...

Rick,

Any chance you can make the pictures so we can save them on to our computers?

I have a whole bunch of picture from PA that I use as a slide show for my screen saver...the one of PA avenue would be a nice addition to the collection.

Thanks
