Re: YMCA - use of building
Caddis, I totally agree that Mr. Ray has more experience when it comes to costs of demolition of a building. My added statement was meant to be more in regards to the demolition, not so much a new construction of a new building. I see where I attached that wasn't exactly in the specific place it sho...

Re: Windmills on Ice Mountain - Gamesa Wind Turbines
I have been hearing from some like Senator Eichelberger who is not in favor of the Wind Turbines Would you please elaborate further on the above statement? - Not sure how to elaborate, other than the Mayor and I had a meeting with the Senator and he had nothing good to say about the Wind Turbines ....

Re: Windmills on Ice Mountain - Gamesa Wind Turbines
Just remember this, Bill... Information that is being made available from governmental agencies, that have a history of political agendas, whose leaders are typically political appointees, and typically packages their material as "official information" is not necessarily real information.....

Re: Windmills on Ice Mountain - Gamesa Wind Turbines
Nothing coming from Harrisburg is ever "neutral". Especially when it comes to government and governmental offices. Undoubtedly, the meeting is about "influencing" ("brainwashing" is such an ugly term  ) local leaders' opinions. It's really not that hard to read be...

Re: YMCA - use of building
I see no reason why it could not be used for a hotel. I think location-wise that is a nice place for a Tyrone Hotel. The only think I can think of that would prevent it would be perhaps price point to acquire and clear the lot and possibly zoning (since I have no clue what the zoning is for that.) ...

Re: YMCA - use of building
If I recall correctly from years past, not long after L & I did their inspection the renovation costs were in the $1 million to $1.5 million dollar estimated range. Again... from where and from whom are you going to find that kind of money to "save" this structure? Is the community goi...

Re: Skateboard and Bike park
Raze the YMCA building and build it right there. Ample parking. Central location. Easily monitored by the Tyrone PD. And it gives the people in the tower something to watch from their balcony. So, seriously Butterball... have you considered this idea? Work with G & R since he wants to do someth...

As I posted on the Skate Park thread:

Re: YMCA - use of building
I can't disagree at all the the prior 2 posts. The YMCA building is finished. Take it down. The costs alone to renovate that entire structure probably match or outweigh that of constructing a new pole building. Besides... that gym, locker room, and weight room in that building was much too small and...
