Disney, thanks for the post... I know that I get many an email and they are all listed in the subject as "Re: etc."... and I know I never wrote to that person or place. The sad thing is many people fall victim to these scams. I'm sure others have gotten the same emails and the best way to ...

Pup... I don't know if this is the true answer to your question about the pool, but I would think it was because the school would have to supply and pay for a lifeguard. The Hollidaysburg YMCA is helping out the Tyrone Area by "hosting" it for our benefit since we lost our Y. I know nothin...

Beck, I understand your frustration, but surely a ghost town is a bit extreme. Tyrone has a lot going for it, including the people and the place and location. As a former member of the Y, I think there were definitely people coming from other places to use it than just Tyrone. Sometimes creativity ...

There are alot of eyesore buildings in our town. Look at the old Big Yank building. When I think of the old Tyrone YMCA I think of Saturday mornings and how busy it was with youth basketball. There was a constant stream of people coming in out and out of that place. I worked there for a few years an...

Seriously I think the only thing that would benefit the town would be a YMCA.. With basketball games for all ages, volleyball, daycare, pre-school, dance lessons, exercise classes, etc. We need something that every age can get involved in. The years between 14 - 18 is a rough age. Young people don't...

I'm still trying to figure out WHY there is a debate. We've heard from Bill himself describing why he got involved, how he got involved and the training and understanding he has about his involvement. I think anyone that is willing to help out, as long as they are properly trained, is a great asset.

I can't believe that someone would put down Bill for what he is doing. Unless of course that person at one time was maybe "set up" for something? I think our police forces are busy with many issues, drug for one, in our communities. Outside help, done properly has to be a bonus. I would li...

Pup... sounds like your house is alot like mine. Pretty much an open door policy as long as the guidelines are met. It's amazing what something as easy as a smile or a friendly hello can do to a young person. I've seen lives change because of such a simple act. I know a kid who had a relapse and whe...

Some of the people doing drugs don't have the support they need and I feel that is why they need the outside support of the community. We need to open our eyes to the addicted not just to what they do wrong. I strongly believe that there isn't enough available medical and mental help out there for t...

when I was in school, which I know was "back in the day", the cafeteria food was good. The lunch line was always the longest when we had Ham Green Beans and potatoes with good ole sticky buns! They changed the menu's because they said kids won't eat that kind of stuff...?? We had lasagna a...
