Re: Sewage Treatment Plant mandate

150th: You are most welcome. Bill Latchford: I would like to thank you for your public service to the residents of Tyrone Borough. Many people (myself included) play arm-chair quarterback in these types of forums. In many cases, the people who criticize our local public officials and their decisions...

Re: Sewage Treatment Plant mandate

Sandstone: I started reading your post on "Suffering Waters". Unfortunately, I only made it to the Hard Facts on Urban Runoff paragragh that I knew was factually incorrect to the point of being way out of line. Pavement does produce roughly three times the runoff that grass does (not even ...

Re: Sewage Treatment Plant mandate

NBCRSA serves customers in Antis and Snyder Townships. The southernmost part of Antis Township (south of the power lines) drains to Logan Township's wastewater treatment plant. I am pretty positive that the sewer bill for the developments behind Martins and near the Pinecroft Fire Hall (Bel-Aire Es...

Re: Sewage Treatment Plant mandate

Just as an add on to that article in the Daily Herald about this issue and in regards to the area Northern Blair Sewer Authority covers... I know that the Northern Blair Sewer services Antis Township all the way down to the Bellmeade area and back around those developments near the Pinecroft Fire D...

Re: Sewage Treatment Plant mandate

There's not much agricultural activity upstream of Ironville. Please define "not much". Neither the bay watershed nor the Little Juniata River watershed ends in Ironville. However, the Little Juniata River watershed collects runoff from farms in Antis Twp, Snyder Twp, Tyrone Twp, and Warr...

Re: Sewage Treatment Plant mandate

I hear the Municipalitie's pleas, but for me they fall on deaf ears. They have had more than 12 years notice and have in most cases done nothing to get ready for the mandate to comply with the Chesapeake Bay pollution reduction requirements. For water treatment facilities this really boils down red...

Re: Sewage Treatment Plant mandate

I have not seen today's Daily Herald article regarding this issue. However, I am aware that the Borough's consulting engineer prepared a study outlining the improvements and associated costs to upgrade the wastewater treatment plant. The engineer concluded that Borough residents may see their sewer ...

Re: Got a question about Tyrone Vs. Altoona...

According to the Tyrone football link that was just added, Tyrone last played Altoona High in 1937.
