Re: Go to the dogs!

Here's a not so novel idea....and it can be implemented at a single borough council meeting at no cost. Allow dogs to use the Tyrone Borough controlled park land. ...Come on Tyrone leadership, somebody step up to the plate and introduce a revised and enlightened dog law in Tyrone Thanks to its Supe...

Re: Windmills on Ice Mountain - Gamesa Wind Turbines

As supervisor Burket noted at yesterday evening's meeting, the vast majority of the people in the township are opposed to the windpla...

Wind power is a complete disaster April 7, 2009 by Michael J. Trebilcock in National Post (Michael J. Trebilcock is Professor of Law and Economics, University of Toronto. Re: Windmills on Ice Mountain - Gamesa Wind Turbines

We heard more about the environmental impact windmills have, but I would like to know more about what impact they have on overall electicity production. They mentioned that the power lines get tied into a "grid" that services many areas around the Allegheny Mountains. Sure, maybe we don't...

The one woman who spoke near the end of the meeting mentioned that the overall electricity produced by windmills is currently only 13% of the total amount generated. The woman's wrong. In PA industrial windplants account for less than 1% of the electricity produced in our state. PA's largest windpl...

Re: Windmills on Ice Mountain - Gamesa Wind Turbines

Mayor Kilmartin was on WRTA this a.m. and said that he voted against the project because of the inappropriate location and the large amount of subsidies wind companies receive. Mayor Jim Kilmartin is a man of conviction and integrity. I salute you, Mr. Mayor! :flag: Happy Saint Patrick's Day! Fighti...

Re: Windmills on Ice Mountain - Gamesa Wind Turbines

Read Mayor Kilmartin's statement below, then read the headline article in today's Altoona Mirror . Can anyone find the discrepancy? I should have stated this at the meeting as I did to the newspaper. 95% of wind farms are west of the Mississippi River. I do believe wind is a good option for our cou...
