Re: Writers Block

What a GREAT poem about writer's block, Moses! If you truly are experiencing that, you're doing a great job of using it to inspire you! Pure genius! I've had trouble with writer's block recently too, but I haven't come up with a great poem about it yet! Kudos!

Re: Name That Tune

It's really hard to pick a favorite, I have too many. I guess I could say, classic favorite of all time, is "Bridge Over Troubled Water" by Simon and Garfunkel; Recent favorite "Dive" by Stephen Curtis Chapman; Lamest song would be "Eat a Banana" by Weird Steve Yanchovi...

Re: the breaking point

I know you wrote this for your Mom, but I really loved your poem, and it really encouraged me today too. I think that's the wonderful thing about poetry; something you write can inspire someone else in different circumstances...it's a wonderful way to encourage the soul!!! Thanks again! :h I hope al...

Re: Name That Tune

Oh thanks, twilz!!! Sorry about that, I was looking at the lyrics, and missed the right title...it is a different kind of song I thought too.

Re: Name That Tune

You're right, My2Cents...it is Richard Harris, "Someone left the cake in the rain" I think. If the cake was left out too long, I think you'd have to start all over again...maybe it is too much effort. Although if the recipe was one of a kind, I wouldn't trash it. It could be baked again...

Re: Name That Tune

Sorry guys, I guess that was a little too hard. That's "If I had two hands" by Jars of Clay. I really like it, even though it's a newer song. Actually, there's a lot of newer songs I like. Anybody else have one to try? Thanks! :w

Re: Name That Tune

That's it!!! A great song, and I know it wasn't too hard for all of you like me, from that time period. Okay a newer one that may be a little trickier... Hmm... I’ve been living out of sanity I’ve been splitting hairs and blurring lines I am a house that is divided In my heart and in my mind I use o...

Re: Name That Tune

Okay, Banksy, I understand and I think I'm right there with you, so here are some new lyrics, These are actually from my old Young Life days, although why we sang these then, I'm still not quite sure... You of the tender years, can't know the fears your parents live by, and so become yourself, the o...

Re: no more time

Thanks for telling me your story...I'm sure that must have been difficult for you. This was harder for me than cancer, although I don't want to explain it; but sometimes I blame myself for terrible events in a way. In this case, I don't exactly blame myself, and yet, I feel as if God didn't keep the...

Re: no more time

Thanks Something to Say for your reply...I just read it today. This is rather poignant for me, because a friend of mine died unexpectedly, and quite frankly, I hadn't had an opportunity to thank him and his wife for how they impacted my life. At least, it didn't seem like it, and I still feel that I...

I don't think it's wishful thinking, Moses...mercy and forgiveness is an amazing thing to put our trust in!! Nicely written! :w

Re: Name That Tune

Oh thanks BB! It's strange, I can hear the songs in my head, and they sound the same! I knew his songs were a little similar, but that's embarrassing!

Sad song, by the way Something to Say...
