Re: What if Gray's Memorial Field was renamed...
That's an outstanding idea actually. The parking with the new facility could help with parking concerns for big events at the school as well..ie Dist wrestling(which we already lost) and bigger dist and even state playoff b-ball games.

the 1940 team did; also it's a team game, they might not of one one w/out him, but he didn't do it by himself. Babe Ruth got a career out of baseball.....I will stop there but you see where that is gonna go.

Re: 2008 - 2009 TAHS Football Season
Rematch this week with Central Cambria. We need to fill the place with those loud ravenous Tyrone fans and show them how much it hurt last year moving that game to early Saturday at Mansion Park; I was one of many that couldn't make it due to the change. Friday Night, 7pm Gray-Vets Field, BE THERE, ...

Re: Tyrone Marching Band
Thanks for the great explanation. I have noticed a big difference in the band this year and you guys keep getting better! I hope you do "shoot for the stars" so to speak, and get into the championship flight again. Anything you set your minds to is attainable. I'm sure you've heard the day...

Re: Tyrone Marching Band
That's great; good job! I have a question. It looks to be different than when I was in school. Why is there a regional and championship division? When did they start that?

Re: Sarah Palin visits Johnstown
All the "polished and savy" political leaders over the past 20 years have gotten us to where we are now. Before that we elected an actor that brought back some "clout" to the American image world-wide. I'll take a POW and hot"soccer mom" for 4 years. While I'm at it, I'...

Add Edie Latchford to that list. I remember my younger days at West End lanes , youth football, just about any activity, Edie was usually there and always smiling, ...GREAT LADY! My kids and family have fond memories of all 3, and if you've met any of the three, you'd refer to them as friends. Can't...

The agent Bt also has an adverse effect on moth predators,ie. beattles, bees,"friendly flies"(you know those big hairy looking flies that some call horse flies),etc. they naturally help keep the moths somewhat in check. Remember,Bt is environmentally friendly so is less effective than "...

so it costs too much to do a whole project that was engineered what???... 30 years ago? Ever think about re-examining the plan? Alot has changed since the 70's, including technologies that would be employed. The only 2 things that hasn't and won't change is the location of the downtown area and the ...

Re: Ice Mt gypsy moths
From what I understand, to be effective, this can't be a one time deal. So say they spray next year too. Sounds like a credit card commercial..... Price of Gypsy moth control 1/4 million $; money spent on flood control last few years-----0 a town council with a fiscal IQ over their shoesize------pri...

And the upping the ante' continues... and that includes going from just straight bribery to fear mongering now "in this slowing economy". But, as PT Barnum supposedly said ... "there's a sucker born every minute". How many "suckers" live in the Boro of Tyrone and/or ar...

Re: Fuel/Gas Prices... Let the Protests Begin!
It may be the same demand, but Exxon/Mobil are the bigdogs, if the lack of sales hurts them enough, they will drop their price to entice sales; which could start a price war. Yes, there are alot of "ifs and coulds" but that's all we have.IT IS BLEAK. BTW- Apple and Kwik Fill is American ma...
