Re: Windmills on Ice Mountain - Gamesa Wind Turbines

Something to say, thanks for posting. Just like the honey bees, we depend on bats in agriculture. If more expensive insecticides need to be sprayed on fields to keep pest populations under control, you will definitely see another increase in food prices, not to mention the effects of insecticide run...

I heard a few people from my son's boy scout troop planning on going, but it's also the day of our cub scouts pine wood derby.

Re: Windmills on Ice Mountain - Gamesa Wind Turbines

"Your assertion is that we care about nothing UNLESS it hits home. I think that is unfair and very presumptuous. It may be the case for some, but not all." Okay, perhaps that's not entirely true. Maybe the best way of putting it isn't that most people don't care, they are simply unaware of...

Re: Windmills on Ice Mountain - Gamesa Wind Turbines

Unfortunately, most people don't care about environmental issues or sustainability until it affects them personally, and by then its too late. Why should you care about you or one of your family members contracting a disease like West Nile virus from a mosquito? The United States has approximately 2...

I think its wonderful, especially since he is recycling so many of the materials from other excavation work he's doing. Re: Fuel/Gas Prices... Let the Protests Begin!

"Ethanol is not the answer to our woes."

I agree. We couldn't grow enough corn fast enough to meet the demand. Hydrogen fuel cells sound interesting, but way too expensive right now.

Old Relatives

In memory of David Auman 1975-2008 Old Relatives By David Auman Sitting in a darkened room staring at the curtains I see a house. Scavenger dogs run through it picking at remains of lost relatives. The mailman brings nothing to the door. He is walking in circles through the yard. Dust falls to the g...

Very moving, very sad. So many young lives are ruined by these, drugs, prostitution, crime that they discover on the streets after running away.

Pale Eyes

My brother passed away unexpectedly two months ago. He left behind some poems and shorts stories, some incomplete. Pale Eyes By David Auman I stand on a hill Of dead trees, their frail hands too far from heaven. Caterpillar nests, like tattered clothing, hang from the branches. Leaves crush under my...

Tyrone lost 50-46 to North East last night. What a great season they had under second-year coach George Gripp. They played hard all year and made the games so exciting to watch. We're proud of you!

Re: Embezzlement in the News

"Whether they think they can be caught or not is less important than to the moral values they reflect." So true, Banksy. And in the case of the woman embezzling money from the boy scouts, look at the example she is setting for those kids. What kind of person steals from their own kids? Unb...
