Skateboard/Bike park

I just want to remind everyone that there is a meeting on Thursday to discuss the possibilities of a skateboard/bike park to be put in Tyrone. I do hope there are people there to support this. People love to complain about the kids riding at the local businesses. Here is an oppurtunity to show the y...

possible locations

I am not sure if a site has been decided up yet, but I have heard Shie Field and the hockey rink by the pool discussed. The kids by shie field would not want to lose the entire field, they play football and teener league there.

Skateboard and Bike park

I was wondering what the adults in town were thinking about the proposed skateboard and bike park?

Printing money

I heard about a community in the New England states that legally printed there own money. People traded in $90 real money for $100 of the town money and the town businesses obsorbed the 10% loss but it kept the business in the town.

First and formost I work with the Alternative Ed program in Tyrone. I look at this "job" as a way to impact this group of students. All of the students in this program are from broken homes with very little morals or values. I try each and every day to have a possitive impact on this group...

Matt you had a lot of suggestions of what others can do. I did not see anything you are doing to help the youth yourself... It takes an adult to organize the things you wrote about. It takes money. If you don't want to take part in investing time with a youth then you could invest money into startin...

What part do you play?

I don't think people are claiming that it is easy. I think the point is every little bit we do will help. I also feel that sometimes people stand back and complain but don't do anything to "help" the situation. We look down on the teenagers running around town with there piercings or just ...

Family matters

I agree with the last post.. It does seem like there are a lot of broken homes in Tyrone. The teens that I have encountered in my line of work at the school all come from broken homes. Some of them are even second and third generation broken homes. Parents that don't know how to parent and are afrai...

Take Pride and do something

I think what Jim said about it takes a community to raise a child is important. I wonder as I read some of the replies about the town, what are "we" doing to help. It is Jim's "job" but he cannot do it alone. He needs people to support him whether financially or showing up to eve...

God Moving In Tyrone

I want to let people know that we have a Christian Archery group in Tyrone. It is part of the national organization called Christian Bowhunters Of Americal. The local chapter is called On Target Archers-Quest Haven Lodge. QHL allows us to use there facility to keep our 3-D course up all summer. For ...
