Members List Changes

I have modified the Members List page no longer show any registrants who have not had their account activated by the Administrator (Me). This should be the final step in preventing any offsite links to websites that do not belong on TyronePA.com

Well, we've rid ourselves of all of our spammers, so I will now only be "cleaning up" around here every 3-6 months.

The above rules will still apply, but I'll only be updating the active lists every few months.

Enjoy your new, cleaned up forum!

Nope, all seems in line.

I made a huge change several weeks back when I put myself in authorizing new accounts instead of automatic approval. You guys don't see them anymore, but I eliminate 4-5 spammers registrations DAILY.

When a new registrant signs up, I look to see if they have spam linked in their description, use a false email address, or use an email address that links to a spam domain.

The forum, although more busy now than ever, is doing very well compared to earlier this year.

Every 3-4 months I will come through and remove older accounts that no longer post, or newer ones that have yet to login; you guys can't see that, but I can ;)

Ahhhh... I see the one you were referring to...

Sorry about that. Accounts waiting for aprooval no longer appear in the Memberlist, but the may still appear on the homepage "Newest Member"

Either way... Gone now :guns: :thumb: [/url]

I deactivated 21 accounts today that fit the following credentials posted in our rules section
Rick wrote: As the forum continues to grow, I will be routinely trimming the memberlist under the two, simple guidelines...

1. Members with zero post counts, who have been registered for over 6 months may be deleted.
This is primarily to combat spammers, or hotlink phishers.

2. Established members with no logins within 12 months may be deleted.
This is to keep the memberlist manageable, and succinct.
We are now at 190 members.

Rick, I decided to take a break for awhile....was getting too wrapped up in a discussion which really is none of my business since I don't live in Tyrone anymore and prolly won't ever get back there for even a visit. I've been reading the threads to get caught up....whew, I'll never wade thru them all. I like the new forum, much easier to navigate. Glad you didn't delete me...... :hail:
Besides, now that I've got the onion recipe, I'll make my own dang hoagies  ......oops...
