Name: John J. Hess
Date of Birth: Nov. 29, 1977
Date of Death: Sept. 11, 2007
Obituary: John Jeffrey Hess, 29, of Buckhannon, W. Va., and formerly of Grampian and Tyrone, passed away Tuesday morning, Sept. 11, 2007, at the Altoona Regional Medical Center as the result of a traffic accident.

Born Nov. 29, 1977 in Clearfield, he was the son of Randy Hess of Grampian and Mari Jo (Bennett) and Dave Reese of Tyrone.

Mr. Hess was a salesman for Coastal Lumber Company in Buckhannon.

He was a graduate of Tyrone Area High School and also the National Hardwood Lumber Association Lumber Grading School.

Mr. Hess also raced Motorcross motorcycles. He was United Methodist by faith and a member of the following organizations: the American Motorcycle Association, the PAMX Racing Association, the District 5 Motorcycle Association, and the National Hardwood Flooring Association.

Surviving are his parents, three brothers, Daniel F. Hess of Grampian, Aaron M. and his wife, Carrie Reese, of Tyrone and Ian C. Reese of Massachusetts.

Also surviving are a niece, Sarah N. Reese; and a nephew, Hunter M. Reese; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; his maternal grandparents, Raymond and Donna Bennett, of rural Grampian and Melvin and Jean Reese of Tyrone; and his paternal grandparents, John and Ann Hess of Hyde and Paul and Madeline Price of Grampian.

Services for Mr. Hess will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc., 300 State St., Curwensville, PA 16833 on Friday, Sept. 14, 2007, at 1 p.m., with Pastor John Collins officiating.

Interment will be in the Friends Cemetery of Grampian.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday, Sept. 13 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., and Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of services.
