My Future Is Bright
"How are you doing?" "How do you feel?"
How do I answer in a way that is real?
Whether I'm down or feeling all right,
I simply answer, "My future is bright."
I just wrecked my truck, no raise this year,
As hard as I look there's no reason for cheer.
Even in times of life's darkest night,
I can still answer, "My future is bright."
Taxes go up, the doctors charge more,
Politicians get rich, hard workers stay poor.
The way that it is may not seem right,
It doesn't matter, my future is bright.
I am God's son, a child of the King.
Heaven is my home and death has lost its sting.
One of these days I will take my flight,
To heaven above where my future is bright!
