Two Lamps 3-24-06

Post by moses lee »

It was late in 1960
A heaviness of darkness
Enveloped the room
He walks towards two uncharged pillars
Of light

A way to extend the day
Rejecting the night.

Hands upon the pillars
Thumbs and forefingers upon the switches
Firmly pushing the buttons simultaneously
He was transformed into conductor

Every nerve knotted
Head hurting from over-charged neuro-transmitters
Eyes trying to escape from their sockets
Waiting for death or release.

Hands wide open fingers flayed out ridged
Pillers electronically stuck to his palms
Modern crucifixion, He was ground

Screams of a Banshee
Convulsing like a freezing mans last throes
Shaking loose the charged pillers
Death let him go.
