Twenty plus, plus years
Childhood heartaches and tears
Wartime horrors and fears
And it all came down to this

A Arts Fest in the County of Blair
All the courage I could muster
To stand up there
Read my write

Black tee-shirt as a dress shirt
Suspenders as my vest
Faded blue jeans, ensemble complete
Standing before some of the best
And also the best dressed.

Complemented by the educated
Humbled by the same.

At that moment, At that time
Accumulation of 20 plus, plus years
All worth it
Yet gone in the blink of an eye.

I'm assuming you spoke before a group about the demise of the Keystone Country Arts Festival...very evocative. Third stanza worthy of the best of Nashville...
