It was Fyodor Dostoevsky who said, "Sarcasm: the last refuge of modest and chaste-souled people when the privacy of their soul is coarsely and intrusively invaded."

I intend the following series of poems to explore the uses of satire in post modern society, as well as its utilization as a coping mechanism against the forces of repression arrayed against sandwich talk.

I recite:

There once was a fellow named Rick
Who said as he weilded his bic
If I read any more posey
about infernal hoagies
I'll tear down their posties darn quick

'Tis true that we seem to be entering a regimented police state. Mother always told me to vent my anger with words, and not thermo-nuclear devices so here it goes:

There once was a man from Tyrone
His funny bone was seemingly stone
Twas when I posted my art
Rick turned somewhat tart
Now deleted, my work will never be known.

My rules, it appears, can be rough.
And at times, I may seem too tough.

But believe me, I love a good laugh-it
As long as it is doesn't Hijackith.

Use not, food as you shield.
