Christmas stands at the door

Christmas stands at the door,
And knocks,
One time, twice, three,
Waits to hear us answer,
Decides if there will be more,
Father Christmas,
Is He a figure clothed in red?
Red robes & fur & a cloak up to his chin,
Or in white, or purple like a king?
Father Winter in Russia,
Saint Nicholas in some...
Is standing, outside,
Will we let Him in?
Or with cold hearts...
Will we let Him knock,
Until a meaning can be found
For the question,
"Will you let me in?"
Into our hearts...
The Spirit of Christmas
Comes,
When with childlike joy...
We embrace Him.
And knocks,
One time, twice, three,
Waits to hear us answer,
Decides if there will be more,
Father Christmas,
Is He a figure clothed in red?
Red robes & fur & a cloak up to his chin,
Or in white, or purple like a king?
Father Winter in Russia,
Saint Nicholas in some...
Is standing, outside,
Will we let Him in?
Or with cold hearts...
Will we let Him knock,
Until a meaning can be found
For the question,
"Will you let me in?"
Into our hearts...
The Spirit of Christmas
Comes,
When with childlike joy...
We embrace Him.
