Twisted metal meshed with flesh and bone
Men, Women, children used as shields
That were not
Now, Just past stories of lives
Memories, hopefully
If a Loved one survived
I stare numbly
Emotions cold, yet
Compassion screaming
Far back in my Brain
I want to gently pull them away
Lay them down
And mourn
Did God turn his back on innocence?
Or to the violence
I turned my back and walked away
Hellfire was let loose that day
Overkill is absolute
My emotions are left
Destitute
-End-
