Self Expression
The need for self expression just seems to permeate
My heart and mind one more time as I sit here to create.
Something seems to call me to write down what I feel,
My passion is aroused as I think and write with zeal.
Whether joy or sorrow, life's events I must explain,
Perhaps so you can enter in, some lesson you may gain.
I just want my life to count, to lighten someone's load,
To make you smile or laugh a while along life's weary road.
If I observe in nature some beautiful delight,
Sharing it in poetry just seems be quite right.
And if I learn a lesson from God or His good Book,
I'm compelled to pass it on so you can have a look.
Some describe this as a calling, some would say a gift.
Either way my hope today is that some soul I uplift.
I'm sure you have a talent that you could use for good,
To bring you lots of joy and help others if you would.
