Robert H. Irvin, 82, of Tyrone RD 4 died Saturday at Epworth Manor, Tyrone.

He was born in Tyrone, son of Harry and Margaret (James) Irvin. He was twice married, first to Mary L. Black and then to Anna J. Banks, who died Nov. 21, 2004.

He is survived by three daughters and one son: Deborah and husband, Mahlon Murray, of Tyrone, Linda and husband, Larry Smith, of Warriors Mark, Carole and husband, Ramey Womer, of Philipsburg, and R. William and wife, Beth, of Port Matilda; three stepsons: Rick Banks of Bellefonte and John and Terry Banks in Ohio; six grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a very special friend, Beryl Hammond.

He was preceded in death by five brothers.

He was a member of the Spring Mount Church of the Brethren and the Warriors Mark Franklin Volunteer Fire Company.

He served in the Army from January 1945 to November 1946.

He was a founding member of "The Hilltoppers."

He was employed by Harpster Chevrolet of Warriors Mark, Harpster Chevrolet of Philipsburg and Roberts Motors of Philipsburg as a salesman, retiring in 1986.

Friends will be received from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Bible Baptist Church, 2520 Pennington Road, Warriors Mark, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Warren MacEachren and the Rev. Pastor Steven Burns officiating. Interment at Bald Eagle Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Spring Mount Church of the Brethren, c/o Darlene Lake, 5054 Greystone Lane, Tyrone, PA 16686 or the American Cancer Society, 123 S. Sparks St., State College, PA 16801.

Arrangements are by Bruce E. Cox Funeral Home, Warriors Mark.

Banksy...I'm assuming Mr. Irvin was your stepdad...and/or someone you admired. My condolences to the grieving family and friends. God Bless you all. :h

He was a good guy..I remember him from many years ago and my Dad spoke well of him a few times I remember growing up...
My condolences ........I know what it is like to lose a loved one from that last, best generation..God speed sir..
