Hmmm..........

Is it just me, or is the new TyronePA.com website really boring? It's user-friendly I suppose, but sheeesh.....it's so bland.

I thought so too. The "Main Page" isn't very attractive, it needs more class... it's actually kinda' dull and in need of color....the other areas of the entire site are fantastic, once you get into them. I'm glad we still have our "board," ... whew, I would really miss that .

I feel, and share your opinions. I will say, we aren't done, yet. :thumb:

My main task was making the information more accessible, taggable, and search-able. RSS was a big driving force behind the remodel.

Bigger, brighter colors to come!

I can't get the RSS link to work. Can it be added to a MyYahoo Page or an iGoogle?

I know that you can add it to iGoogle...

Select Add Stuff...

Select Add Stuff

Then add the site

Depending on your web browser version, RSS may not be easy to add. I strongly recommend the Firefox browser and Thunderbird email client.

Looks like there are quite a few users (IE) online that have similar problems (with many sites' rss, not just ours). I'll have to dig deeper.

I've tried adding it to a MyYahoo page and it tells me "Please enter a valid URL and try again." I was entering "www.tyronepa.com" and I tried "http://www.tyronepa.com"

I wasn't sure if they needed the http part or not, but at any rate, neither worked. NOTE: I use Firefox.

I will reserve my thoughts until completion of the site, save for this one....It always seems that once you become comfortable with something and have come to rely on a certain "sameness" the powers that be feel it should be made better. if you can improve on what I have become used to and have come to expect, then by all means go ahead.
But, if you can improve on it, and I have no doubt that you can and will, please leave it intact for awhile. With perhaps just some small improvements over time. The older I get the more I desire things to remain the same....

Just the small grumblings of a man that has become perhaps too complacent... and set in his ways.... :thumb:
