How about Harpster's on 15th street across from the Pee Wee League field behind the Legion. If your team won (we kept SCORE back then) you went to Harpster's for sodas out of the bottle machine. Before the game we always went there and got Bubs Daddy gum.

Anybody remember Foster's Donuts? I remember going there for a dozen "Donut Holes" for a ridiculously cheap price!

Yeah, we sometimes went to Harpsters, but mostly we went down the street to AGFA for that pop machine.... Coach always bought... win or lose.

I also remember an old service station.. I was really young, prob 5-6, and i think the station was near were Kelly Wike has her insurance company... or possibly the next block up where that video store is.... someone older than me could prob confirm this... but they had the soda machine that had the Yoo Hoo in it and it always seemed to be soooo cold and awesome.

Yep - from about 1979 to 1982. It was a Martin's Mobil before that, perhaps after; and Martin Oil was still Charlie's supplier when he had the station.

Charlie's daughter may recall better - she's an occasional poster on this board...

before that, on the corner where the video store is was Batchelor's service station. Back in the day when "Batch" would fill your car, clean your windows, check the oil and tranny AND ask if there was anything else you needed. Dad took his car there religiously. It was a GULF station.

Thats the one I think that had the Yoo Hoo. My dad would always listen to me beg to go there and usually give in.

Yo, somethingtosay, when I was 'young' the Wilson family rented the stone house (used to be a church) that was across from the farmhouse at Arch Springs. We used to spend weekends out there. Now those are some good memories. We would 'explore' all the creeks and banks. There used to be a great wooden walk bridge behind the stone house across the creek to a house on the other side. Great memory of 'someone' falling in from the bridge. That was also the first time we ever loaded up the swing set, got the whole frame rocking outta the ground and tipped it over, IT WAS GREAT!!! For us kids of course, my butt still hurts!!
