My Dad spent many years singing and playing music in Tyrone and Altoona...We all grew up with that music.....
Then, our generation played 50s and 60s music for over 20 years...
:D

My brother Jeff is the last one still playing, he is still in Tyrone....

I participated in a similar thread a few months ago on another forum.

I submitted the following as a "Name That Tune" proposal:

"Happy Birthday to you,

Happy Birthday to you,

Happy Birthday dear _____,

Happy Birthday to you"

Believe it or not - it took a week until someone guessed correctly.

Yep.

This proves that the music programs of TAHS should not be affected by any budget cuts.

Otherwise, future generations of Tyroners wil not be able to correctly guess a song's name based on such complex lyrics. :thumb:

I agree 100 percent BeachBiker !!

OK, another "Name That Tune."

A long, long, time ago..
I can still remember how that music used to make me smile...
And I knew if I had my chance,
I could make those people dance...
And maybe they'd be happy for a while....

....something touched me deep inside, the day the music died.....

Those who are even thinking about taking music out of the curriculum should listen to all the words in this song and think about what they are doing..... There is a lot of talent to be discovered, right here in our little town....

That one sounds like the song Weird Al did for Star Wars about Anikan.
