This was from a recent movie I just watched, but it's a remix...the original goes Way Back...anyone remember this one? This is just completely silly, but I thought it might be lighthearted, for a change...hope you guys enjoy. :jester:

I told the witchdoctor, I was in love with you
And than the witchdoctor, he told me what to do
He said that

ooh eeh ooh ahah, ting tang wallawallabingbang
ooh eeh ooh ahah, ting tang wallawallabangbang
ooh eeh ooh ahah, ting tang wallawallabingbang
ooh eeh ooh ahah, ting tang wallawallabangbang

I told the witchdoctor, you didn't love me true
I told the witchdoctor, you didn't love me nice
And than the witchdoctor, he gave me this advice
He said that

ooh eeh ooh ahah, ting tang wallawallabingbang
ooh eeh ooh ahah, ting tang wallawallabangbang
ooh eeh ooh ahah, ting tang wallawallabingbang
ooh eeh ooh ahah, ting tang wallawallabangbang

I suppose that's appropriate, then, since that's where I first heard it, way back then.

Knew that one watcher.... was waiting for somone else to respond. OK, does anyone know this one ?
I've got dust on my piano
And dishes in the sink
Your side of the bed is cold
I haven't slept a wink
So I read your good-by letter
To the face inside my drink
"... .. .... ... .... .. ... .. ..."

Didn't recognize this one so I cheated.

Still don't recognize it; I don't think I have ever heard this one by Barry Manilow.

Lay Me Down

How about this:

"Life, so they say, is but a game and we let it slip away.
Love, like the Autumn sun, should be dyin' but it's only just begun.
Like the twilight in the road up ahead, they don't see just where we're goin'.
And all the secrets in the Universe, whisper in our ears
And all the years will come and go, take us up, always up."

"We May Never Pass this Way (Again)" , Seals & Crofts.

And "Shorty", I believe we were neighbors back when. Lived 2 houses up from you. Same side of the street. Graduated together. I left Tyrone January 1976 and come back to visit maybe once a year to see my mom and brothers.

Good song, but I always thought it was just Crosby, Stills and Nash, so I'm not sure about the Seals. I'm going to have to listen to this one though...thanks!

Yep! I grew up on Oak Street! Used to love that one maple tree just down from your house that always got such a beautiful golden-orange color about this time of year. Last time I was home, I noticed it had been cut down. :(

Anyway, thanks to everyone for the songs you've posted. A lot of them bring back good memories.

Seals and Croft.

It was the class of 1975' song, so I better remember it. (I didn't vote for it but majority rules, right?)

I just searched on Youtube but did not find it. Found cover versions though.

I think that that was the single worst change on Oak Street. I mean all the newer houses that have been built are one thing but to lose the Maple trees that grew along that side of the street is another. The closest one was my mom's favorite.

Next up.

Of the expanding man
That shape is my shade
There where I used to stand
It seems like only yesterday
I gazed through the glass
At ramblers
Wild gamblers
That's all in the past "

This is the day
Of the expanding man
That shape is my shade
There where I used to stand
It seems like only yesterday
I gazed through the glass
At ramblers
Wild gamblers
That's all in the past

You call me a fool
You say it's a crazy scheme
This one's for real
I already bought the dream
So useless to ask me why
Throw a kiss and say goodbye
I'll make it this time
I'm ready to cross that fine line

CHORUS:
I'll learn to work the saxophone
I'll play just what I feel
Drink Scotch whisky all night long
And die behind the wheel
They got a name for the winners in the world
I want a name when I lose
They call Alabama the Crimson Tide
Call me Deacon Blues

My back to the wall
A victim of laughing chance
This is for me
The essence of true romance
Sharing the things we know and love
With those of my kind
Libations
Sensations
That stagger the mind

I crawl like a viper
Through these suburban streets
Make love to these women
Languid and bittersweet
I'll rise when the sun goes down
Cover every game in town
A world of my own
I'll make it my home sweet home

CHORUS

This is the night
Of the expanding the man
I take one last drag
As I approach the stand
I cried when I wrote this song
Sue me if I play too long
This brother is free
I'll be what I want to be

CHORUS

Just so I'm not viewed as one who lives in the past.

"They're gonna clean up your looks
With all the lies in the books
To make a citizen out of you
Because they sleep with a gun
And keep an eye on you, son
So they can watch all the things you do

Because the drugs never work
They're gonna give you a smirk
'Cause they got methods of keeping you clean
They're gonna rip up your heads,
Your aspirations to shreds
Another cog in the murder machine"

Her green plastic watering can
For her fake Chinese rubber plant
In the fake plastic earth.
That she bought from a rubber man
In a town full of rubber plans
To get rid of itself.
It wears her out, it wears her out
It wears her out, it wears her out.
