Forum Rank Titles
Forum Rank Titles
I have decided to try and have some more fun with the boards, so I have activated the Posting Rank Titles...
They are generically set as follows...
Visitor < 49
Tourist 50-99
Townie 100-499
Resident 500-999
Land Barron > 1000
But since this board is yours, I would really like for you to design the ranks and levels...
Please post below what you would like to see used for your forum...
Please keep it a clean fight, and no hitting below the belt...

Rick,
I like the general idea and think it is fun. However, wouldn't the current titles confuse newer and only-occasional users to the forum?
They may see "visitor" and assume the person is not a resident, "tourist" and assumed the same, "resident" and assume the person lives in Tyrone when he or she doesn't, etc. Of course the profiles do show the proper status, but that direct information does not display with each posting.
It seems odd that my current "Posting Rank Title" is "tourist", when I now live in a tourist resort area.
And that my next 3 levels are Townie, Resident, and Land Barron even though I live so far away.
As I said, I do like the area, it just may be a bit difficult to develop titles that reflect both forum participation levels and actual residency status. I'm looking forward to what you and others may contribute for more suggestions.

I hadn't meant for it to be a real representation of locale, just as a reference to how much we live at the boards themselves...
Hoping for some good ideas...

I actually moderate a PHP board for my company and I use the following ranks:
Rank- Total Posts
New Member - 1
Member - 5
Senior Member - 25
MVP Member - 75
The number of posts can differ, and in this case I would think should be increased higher than the board I moderate which is a Support Forum for our Radiology products. Also, consider the following:
New Member - 1
Member - 5
Silver - 25
Gold - 100
Platinum - 175
Titanium - 250
Any other ideas out there?

Welcome back...
Just wanted to say thanks to both of you for coming back to the forums...
I was hoping you'd all come back...

Titles
Not sure I like the visitor title.
I may have not lived in Tyrone for over a year, but mention my name and everyone still knows it.
Maybe I can be legendary

Can you say "outstanding warrants" and "fugitive"?Harlow wrote:I may have not lived in Tyrone for over a year, but mention my name and everyone still knows it. Harlow

Mark Westley
Mark had been battling cancer for years.
I think he passed away near the beginning of June.
When he passed he weighed around 80 pounds.
He was a great guy. He suffered for years to try to see Thad make it to the State Championships and may God rest his soul.

Whistle becomes background noise
Just wondering if the guy who was bothered by the whistle even notices it anymore?
