Ooooooh yea, Tyrone in the 1970's.

A bit of it is somewhat fuzzy, but what things do you want to discuss and reminisce about?

Where is Sally's? What do they sell? My family still buys all their meat at Mac's Market on the East End.

Sally's Corner was run by Sally Phillinger in the 70's .. It was on the corner of Columbia ave and 22nd street.. and she made the best steak sandwiches for a dollar.. it also had a couple pinball machines and a jukebox... It was a beauty shopp for a while and now it's a private residence..Just somewhere else to hang out while growing up..

I don't remember Sally's, is 22nd the street they would close off for sled riding? was it across from where Danaway's lived? yes, my folks always bought their meat from Mac's too.

Kathy.. yes it was right at the bottom of the hill on the corner of 22nd and Columbia.. Also remember when we could go sled riding at fourth st(Sunoco Hill).. and Hagg's Field.. We used to sled ride down and Sparky Johnson used to haul our sleds back up with his snowmobile.. what a great time..

i thought that was the place. i didn't sled ride much on fourth st. east tyrone was my stomping grounds. but i do remember hagg's hill. that was always a good spot too. my dad & gene hagg were good friends, could always remember going up there. and when i was just home, i saw they put ballfields up on Haggs hill. boy how times change?

The crosscountry course at TAHS in the early 70s was torture for runners. I wonder if the same one is used nowadays?
